Week#3 Classmate Interview: James Casey

I talked to James Casey at the art gallery this week and found out some cool facts.  He’s a third year here at CSULB and is majoring in creative writing.  He likes that he is able to do what he is passionate about, writing, but dislikes having to print out copies of every page he writes to every person in his classes (that would get expensive).  He prefers to writing fiction to non fiction because he doesn’t like writing about himself.  He informed me that he likes the campus here and that everyone he’s come into contact with has been nice.  He’s trying to graduate next year, but plans on being at CSULB for a total of 5 years.  I was surprised to find out that he lives all the way out in Riverside and commutes to and from school everyday!  James’s favorite food is pizza because you can put anything on it (how I feel about burritos).  His favorite color is blue and his favorite animal is the pug because they’re so funny looking.  “I have a pug bull dog and he’s so ugly that he’s cute”.  One day he would like to write for a television show, but not be the show runner just work with a team of writers.  He would like to be remembered for writing a show that was well written, had comedic and dramatic elements, and makes people think about real problems going on in the world.  While talking to James about various television shows we found out that we both love the show ‘True Blood’.  The show is actually what first got him motivated to start writing and he even has a Lilith tattoo!  To check out what he writes about and more you can look on his website.
